Chapter 14

“But you don’t give up on her, right?” A man’s voice could be heard from the phone.

“Of course not, I also know she wouldn’t do that to me. That’s why I call you everyday, Tatsuya.” Another man answered.

“Then, if you need my help you can call me anytime, Kengo.” Tatsuya said.

“Thanks.” Kengo replied shortly.

“Anyway it’s time to go now, Miki will explode outside waiting for me!” Tatsuya said as he laughed.

Kengo also laughed, he also happy that Tatsuya and Miki’s problem is finally solved. But now, the different problem stayed with him anytime.

“Maybe I should visit her this holiday. Yeah, I must.” Kengo thought as he sat on his sofa. “But I just wonder what makes her phone not able to be called.” He thought again as he stared to his own phone. “Anyway it’s been almost half year since I left her…”

“How could I don’t miss her?”

“How’s your phone’s condition, Kumi-chan?” Miki asked.

“Not good, you know what, it’s been two months since I gave it to the service center and it hasn’t come back!” Kumiko replied angrily.

“Two months?? That’s too long for that little problem of phone!” Miki protested.

“I know, I also understand. Plus… it’s been almost half year since he left me here, and I haven’t told him about this phone, so automatically it’s been two months since the last time I talked to him. The second and the third months, I was so busy, even though I tried to call him anytime, but I know that he is also busy there…” Kumiko explained.

“Yeah, you’re right. Maybe I can ask Tatsuya to call him and tell him what happen! It’s that alright?” Miki said.

“Thank you so much, Miki-san!!” Kumiko replied, smiling happily.

“Don’t mention it, I won’t stand still if you break up just because of that stupid phone.” Miki said, making both of them laughed.

Yeah, that’s the condition now. Broken-stupid-phone, half year in loneliness, and life among the business. They can’t avoid it all, they can’t refuse the fact that they are separated.

But no one is doubting their destinies.

It’s the college festival, and everybody is busy with their own class activities, including Kumiko and her friends.

“Kumiko, will you watch the Hanabi Festival tonight??” Her friend, Akiko, asked her while they’re eating takoyaki together in the college park.

“Uhm, I hope I can come, but I guess not.”  Kumiko replied.

“Ehh? Doushite?? It’s not that you don’t like fireworks, right??” Akiko asked again.

“No, no, I love fireworks! Just… I don’t have ‘friend’ to watch the Hanabi Festival together…” Kumiko replied, giving an accent to the word ‘friend’.

“Eh? You break up??” Akiko asked.

Kumiko almost choked because of that unexpected question, then she stared at Akiko. “Break up?? What do you mean by break up??” She asked.

“Don’t try to lie to me, I know you have a boyfriend!” Akiko replied.

“Well that’s—“

“We saw both of you walked together, the first day you came to school after the accident.” Suddenly her other friend, Ayumi, said.

“Ayumi-chan..!” Kumiko turned her head to see her friend that comes from her back.

“Sou desune?? You really have a boyfriend!” Akiko said.

“Yeah, what I wanted to say is well-that’s-true! But…” Kumiko replied.

“But?” Both of her friends asked, looking to her deeply with curious eyes.

“Nan da yo?! Don’t look at me like that!” Kumiko protested.

Akiko and Ayumi laughed. “Don’t be so shy, Kumi-chan! You can tell us everything, we’re friends since we’re in high school.” Ayumi said.

Kumiko sighed. “He’s far from me now, and I haven’t talk to him for two months.” She said.

“Two months?? How could—“

“My stupid phone broke, remember??” Kumiko cut Akiko’s line.

“Ah…” Akiko nodded.

“But now my friend’s boyfriend already told him about that annoying broken phone, so I guess… there’s no need to worry or thinking about break up or something.” Kumiko said.

“Yokatta ne, I know you really love that guy..!” Ayumi said, showing her naughty smile.

Kumiko blushed hardly. “Do you even know his name??” She protested.

“Mochiron! His name is surely Ohkuchi Kengo, deshou??” Akiko said surely with laugh.

The three of them laughed, without noticing there’s a pair of ears and eyes that was listening and looking at them. Until Kumiko finally noticed him.

“Jiro-san..!” She called, waving her hand to Jiro.

Jiro didn’t answer, he even walked away, disappearing among the other students.

“What’s with him?? He doesn’t need to ignore you, right??” Ayumi protested.

Kumiko just smiled. “Ii yo.” She said.

“Ii? You’re too kind!” Akiko protested.

“Yeah, she’s not like the heartless Akiko, you know..!” Ayumi said.

They fought a while, just like a normal bestfriend. This is the moment Kumiko loves the most.

The Hanabi Festival will start one hour from now, but while her friends are outside with their beloved one, Kumiko stayed in her room, she opened her window and look outside while feeling the breeze of wind, and hoping she can also watch the Hanabi Festival from here.

Tonight’s sky is clear, no clouds, and there are a lot of stars above.

“Kumiko!” A voice called her from under her room.

She looked down and saw Ayumi, Akiko, and their boyfriends are there.

“Aki-chan? Ayumi-chan?? Why—“ She surprised.

“Come on! Let’s go to the Hanabi Festival together!” Akiko shouted.

“But…!” Kumiko refused.

“It’s alright! You still have time to change and wear your Yukata! Come on!” Ayumi said.

Kumiko silent for a while, but then she shouted. “Okay, wait for me!” She said as she closed her window and quickly searched her mom to help her wear the Yukata.

“Hurry up, Okaa-san, I’ll be late!” She said.

“Be patient, dear, I’m trying to tidy it up so it looks neat!” Her mom replied. “Hai! It’s finished! You can go now.” She said.

“Arigatou!” Kumiko said, smiling. Then she grabbed her clutch, wears the Geta and ran out from the house.

“Minna!” She called everyone.

“Ah, Kumiko! Woow, you look so beautiful!” Akiko said.

“Thanks!” Kumiko replied, smiling.

Kumiko actually just wears a simple pink Yukata, with red obi, and has her hair in a bun like she had when playing as Hinamori. “Natsukashii…!” She thought.

They walked together and reached the Hanabi Festival place. The place is filled with other students.

“Hurry up, the fireworks will start soon!” Akiko said as she grabbed Kumiko’s and Ayumi’s hands.

“Chotto, Aki-chan! I can’t walk fast with this geta!” Kumiko protested.

But anyway they got the best place to see the fireworks clearly. A few moments later, some people start to count down.

“Ready, everyone?? Let’s count!! Three! Two! One! Go!”

Then the fireworks show up on the night sky with the other stars.

“Kirei na~!” Ayumi said.

Kumiko stared at the sky, smiling.

“I hope someday we will watch this together.”

Love never fails…

“Kumiko.”

That voice, with my name, the one that I was longing so much… I turned my head and see you there, standing with the smile that I had lost.

“Kengo.”

Why is this tear falling down even when I’m happy?

“Why are you crying?” Kengo asked when suddenly Kumiko is already in his arm.

Kumiko shook her head. “I’m not crying… I… won’t cry anymore…” Kumiko replied.

“Then why are you crying louder right now?” Kengo asked again, laughing a little.

“Urusai!” Kumiko protested while her cry becomes louder.

“We’ll provide trouble here, come on, let’s move.” Kengo decided as he grabbed Kumiko to a more silent place. It’s under a small traditional roof, where they still could see the fireworks clearly.

“Kengo…?” Kumiko called Kengo.

“What is it?” Kengo replied.

“I don’t know what to say… really…” She said.

Kengo smiled and hugged her tightly. “Me too…” He said. Then he let go of his hug and looked deeply into her eyes. “Tadaima.”

Kumiko smiled with happiness tears on her eyes. “Okaeri.”

It is true, no one sees them among the crowds and the sound of the beautiful fireworks. No one can feel their feelings, no one can understand, and no one will be able to wipe it away and replace it from their hearts. These warm embraces, these calming feelings, it will never change. Itsudemo, kawaranai…

“Ohayou…” Kumiko heard a voice while her eyes were still half closed. When she opened it, the sunshine got through, and made her smile.

But wait, whose voice was that?

Now her eyes are fully opened and she is fully recovered. And who is it beside her on her own bed?

“Kengo??!” She half screamed.

“Hey, hey, hey! Calm down, girl. What is it??” Kengo surprised.

“What are you doing on my bed??” Kumiko asked while she already sat on her bed.

“You fell asleep and—“

“And you brought me here?? What’s that? How can you got in to my house, how can you went through my parents, how can you—“ Kengo quickly held Kumiko’s hands which is starting to hit him with pillow.

“Listen to me first, okay?” Kengo asked.

“Okay.” She replied.

“You don’t remember that we went to your home together last night, and how your parents asked me to stay here for a couple of day and how they finally decided to threw me into your bedroom while you’re sleeping??” Kengo asked again randomly.

“…”

“Can you repeat? Because I, don’t understand.” Kumiko said.

Kengo groaned and finally both of them decided to let it go away.

“But remember not to get in to a girl’s room before you ask for permission from its owner, okay??”

“Yes, ma’am…”

“By the way…” Kumiko started again.

“Hm?” Kengo replied while still reading some random books from Kumiko’s bookshelves.

“Are you… gonna leave again?” She asked.

That made Kengo stopped his activity and looked at Kumiko. “Oh please don’t use that ‘leave’ word.” He said. But Kumiko just shrugged her shoulder. “But anyway… I guess yeah I’m lea—I mean I…”

Kumiko giggled. “You’re avoiding that word. It’s okay, you know.” She said.

“Well yeah I’m leaving.” Kengo replied, giving an accent to the word ‘leaving’. That made both of them laughed.

“So you are really leaving, aren’t you?” Kumiko asked again, now with a bi t serious face. But actually Kengo saw it like a sad glance.

So he stepped forwards and hugged her tightly. “My heart will never gonna leave you.” He said.

Kumiko felt happy as she heard those words, but still… she feels unease with this condition. A long distance relationship is… fragile…

This night, Kengo asked Kumiko to go out together to a calm park.

“You’re leaving tomorrow, hm?” Kumiko said as both of them walked together passing all the flowers.

“Yeah… something like that…” Kengo replied.

Kumiko smiled as she looked up to the stars. “We will… never be separated… right?” She asked.

“Of course.”

“You promise?”

“Yeah.”

“Say it.”

“…”

“What’s wrong?”

“I promise I will always stay by your side and will make you happy.”

Both of them smiled and they’ll always remember the promise under stars.

Queen of My Heart

So here we stand in our secret place

With the sound of the crowds so far away

And you take my hand it feels like home

We both understand, it’s where we belong

So how do I say? Do I say goodbye?

We both have our dreams, we both wanna fly

So let’s take tonight, to carry us through

The lonely times

I’ll always look back as I walk away

This memory will last for eternity

And all of our tears will be lost in the rain

When I’ve found my way back to your arms again

But until that day you know you are

The queen of my heart

So let’s take tonight and never let go

While dancing we’ll kiss like there’s no tomorrow

As the stars sparkle down like a diamond ring

I’ll treasure this moment ‘till we meet again

But no matter how far or where you may be

I’ll just close my eyes, and you’re in my dreams

And there you will be

Until we met

I’ll always look back as I walk away

This memory will last for eternity

And all of our tears will be lost in the rain

When I’ve found my way back to your arms again

But until that day you know you are

The queen of my heart

Oh yeah, you’re the queen of my heart
No matter how many years it takes
I’ll give it all to you
Oh yeah
Oh yes you are
The queen of my heart…

~Ohkuchi Kengo~

“So, we’re having an ‘airport scene’ again, right?” Kumiko said when they’re at the airport.

Kengo laughed a little. “I guess yeah.” He replied.

They remained silent for a while, until Kumiko looked up to Kengo’s face.

“Kengo-kun… atashi…” she started, while Kengo stayed with his confuse looked. “Atashi… kimi no koto… itsumo suki…” It’s been a long time since she said this to him, so now she blushed hardly.

Kengo grinned and screwed Kumiko’s hair, then he stopped and looked to her eyes, bowing a bit. *Author said : like that Gin and Rukia’s scene in the Dark of the Bleeding Moon.* “Ore mo… Kumiko no koto, itsumademo daisuki!” He said.

Right after those words, an announcement could be heard by all of the people, including both of them. It’s announcing that the plane which Kengo will go with is gonna take off soon.

“Ja, ima wa boku ga ittekimasu yo.” Kengo said, still holding Kumiko’s hands.

Kumiko nodded, as she tried to let go Kengo’s hands, but Kengo just held it tighter.

“Ke-Kengo-kun… you have to go…” Kumiko said, sobbing.

“I don’t want to go to a place where there’s no Kumiko.” Kengo replied.

Kumiko shook her head. “Don’t be selfish!” She scolded him. But she’s still sobbing and still looking down to the floor.

So Kengo lifted her chin and look deeply to her wet eyes. “I won’t leave you anymore.” He said surely.

Kumiko could see Kengo’s will over her. He is serious.

Kengo grabbed Kumiko’s hands and ran together with her to the parking lot where the taxi that they hired is waiting.

“Kengo-kun, nani—“

“We’re going back.” He cut her line.

“Going back?? Where??” Kumiko asked while still running.

“To the place where we belong.” He replied, smiling.

Kumiko didn’t know why, but she felt very happy, very calm, as Kengo is by her side…

She doesn’t need anything but this feeling to be with her forever…

Close to You

Why do birds suddenly appear
Everytime you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you…

Why do stars fall off from the sky
Everytime you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be,
Close to you…

On the day that you were born
The angels got together
They decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair
And put a starlight in your eyes so blue

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you, all around
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you…

Just like me, they long to be
Close to you….

Just like me, they long to be
Close to you….

Close to you….

The Second Paper
I’ve been waiting for around one hour, and I’ve been to the biology lab to check the fishes, I’ve been to the sports hall to just look around—and of course it’s empty because it’s not the day for sports, and else until Hiro’s club activity is done.
“Tenshi-chan, sorry to make you wait for so long.” Hiro said as he walked towards me.
I giggled. “It’s been always like this, isn’t it? I’m used to it already.” I replied.
I don’t know why but I saw Hiro blushed a little. But he denied my glance and got his bike outside of the bike park.
“Let’s go home.” He said, smiling.
I nodded and get on to the bike, warped my hand around his waist, and he started to accelerate it.
“Don’t forget to slow down!” I reminded him again.
“Okay, I give you a present for today, I’ll drive with 70 km/h!” He replied as he laughed and drive his bike faster.
“Hey!!” I protested.
We got past all the calm streets with the sun shines brightly towards the both of us. I love this moment… I love Hiro…
“Yosh, we’ve arrived!” He said when we finally and fortunately reached my house safely.
I got down from the bike, but suddenly I kinda lost my balance and fell backward. Fortunately Hiro noticed it and he wraps his arm around my shoulders before my head hit the ground.
“Be careful!” Hiro said.
“Ah, sorry…” I replied, trying to gain my balance again.
Okay, this is embarrassing. First, I fall off very, very, and very often. I don’t know what cause that, but I just… fall! Second, it’s been a month since I’m Hiro’s girlfriend, but up until now, I still can’t help but blush hardly whenever our faces get so close.
“You okay? It seems a little bad today, your face looks a bit pale.” He concerned my face.
“It’s pale from the first place…!” I replied. Though it heard like I’m angry, but I smiled on the face.
Hiro laughed again, and he patted my head softly. “Be more careful, you fall easily, and that makes me worry, you know?” He said.
Again, I blushed. “Okay.” I replied as I nodded.
He smiled and held my shoulder. “Then, get inside your house quickly, it’s already four PM, don’t get your parents worry.” He said.
“Hai. Arigatou, Hiro-kun!” I said as I waved to him and get inside my house.

I glance to my future-paper again. What should I write? I really haven’t decided any of it yet. I glance through it with empty glance, until my mom knocked the door.
“Tenshi, dinner is ready.” She said beyond the door.
I stood up and opened the door, then followed her to the first floor where my dad has been waiting already. On the weekdays, it’s just the three of us in our house. But on weekends, my older brothers usually come home from their college.
Now I decided to tell them about that damn paper. “Uhm… Okaa-san, Otoo-san.” I called them while we’re already sitting on our chairs.
“What’s wrong, Tenshi?” Dad replied.
“Today, I received a paper…” I paused. “A paper about my future.” I continued.
My mom seems understand, so she smiled. “You can decide it by yourself.” She said.
“What about… Dad’s opinion?” I asked.
“I would’ve agreed with your mom too, but you have to think of it carefully, okay?” He answered.
I smiled happily. “Arigatou.” I said.
Both of them also smiled at me. “Well then, let’s have a dinner!” Mom said.

Today’s morning, the sun also shines as always, getting through the curtain and shine my face. I hope today will be a better day than yesterday.
I jumped from my bed and get ready to school. Today too, I will go with Hiro like usually.
“Okaa-san, otoo-san, ittekimasu yo!” I shouted from the front door.
“Be careful!” Mom replied.
“Hiro!” I called him.
“Hey, ohayou.” He replied, smiling.
“Ohayou.” I said when I reached him and his bike.
“Let’s go.” He said.
I nodded, and we walked, heading to school.

“Tenshi-chan, I want to go to the basketball club, wanna join?” Ayane asked.
“Basketball club? For what?” I asked back.
“I have my crush there!” She whispered as she giggled.
I became so interested. “Let’s go then! But promise me you’ll show me the man!” I said.
“Of course! Come on, let’s ask Kyoko to join us too!” She replied.
And the tree of us walked to the basketball hall. To get there we should walk through the school park. It’s full with flowers, and the ground is covered by many stones.
“Ah, shimatta! It will end soon! Let’s run!” Ayane looked to her watch and grabbed Kyoko with her, running together, and leaving me behind.
“Ah, wait for me!” I shouted as I started to run too, following them.
But there’s something wrong with my body. I felt like it doesn’t belong to me that I cannot move any of the part of it, even my finger, and that’s including my legs. It felt so weak, like I’m a baby that’s just learned how to walk. I fell off as my face is facing the ground, and of course in front of me is all stones. There was nothing that prevents my way, but I really fell off.
A second later, it felt so hurt as my friends shouted.
“Tenshi!!” Ayane and Kyoko cried. They ran to me and grabbed my shoulder and turned my bodies.
“Oh my God, her head’s bleeding!” Kyoko cried, covering her mouth with her hands.
Ayane looked at me with worry, but then she quickly commanded Kyoko.
“Kyoko-chan, go call Okada-kun!” She said.
Kyoko didn’t wait for anything anymore, she ran quickly to where Hiro is.
“Tenshi-chan, hang on, okay?” Ayane said.
It felt so hurt, like my head is ready to explode whenever it required to. I began to lose my consciousness, when Hiro and Kyoko came back.
“Tenshi!” Hiro called as he warped her arms around my shoulders. “Quick calls the ambulance!” He said.
Kyoko and Ayane nodded, and Ayane grabbed her cell phone.
“Hang on there, you’ll be alright.” I heard Hiro said.
“Okada-kun, we already called the ambulance, they said we have to wait at the entrance. I guess we have to bring Tenshi-chan to the infirmary first. Let me wait at the entrance and tell you if the ambulance has come.” Ayane said.
“Okay, thanks.” Hiro replied, smiling. As he carried me to the infirmary. “You fell again?” He asked on the way.
I didn’t’ replied, so he continued. “Don’t make me worry again, small problem could cause you a big problem, you know.” He continued.
We arrived at the infirmary, and the nurse takes care of me there. A few moments later, Hiro’s cell phone rang.
He grabbed his cell phone and answered the call. “How is it, Hishida-san?” Hiro asked. Hishida is Ayane’s surname.
I couldn’t hear Ayane’s voice, but then Hiro closed his phone and ready to carry me again.
“The ambulance is waiting at the entrance.” He said as he carried me to the entrance and the ambulance brought me to the hospital.
I still feel dizzy and hurt as the ambulance got through all the way to the hospital, and when we’ve arrived, all of them brought me to a room. There, the doctor checked my head.
“She’s alright, it’s just a scratch on her skin.” I heard the doctor said to Hiro, Ayane, and Kyoko.
All of them sighed happily, but then Hiro said something.
“Hishida-san, Fukuda-san.” He called Ayane and Kyoko. “I need to talk to the doctor for a while, can you bring Tenshi-chan outside?” He asked.
Ayane and Kyoko nodded as they brought me outside.

In the doctor’s room
“Sensei.” Hiro called. “I just need to ask you something.” He continued.
“What is it?” Sensei replied.
“I’m just… worried, because Tenshi-san fell off very often and not just that… Everytime she fell, her face hit the ground directly, and her hands never had any scratch.” Hiro explained. “Do I really need to worry about that?” He added.
Sensei seems to think a bit, and then he spoke. “I will check it, just wait here.” Sensei said.
Hiro nodded as sensei walked to the room beside this room. “Arigatou, sensei!” Hiro said.
A few minutes seems like two hours for Hiro. He didn’t know why, but he felt something is gonna happen, even though he didn’t know what that is.
“Okada-san.” Sensei called.
“Ah, sensei. How is it?” Hiro replied.
“Well…” Sensei said as he putted Tenshi’s brain X-ray and other brain X-ray to the wall. “Here, look at these.” He continued as he sat down on his chair.
“What… are these?” Hiro asked.
“This one is a normal person’s brain.” Sensei started to explain as he pointed to the left brain picture. “And this one, is Matsuzawa-san’s brain.” Now he pointed to the right picture. “Do you see any difference between them?” He asked.
Hiro thought for a while as he looked carefully to the pictures. “I guess yeah.” He said. There’s something wrong with Tenshi’s brain.
Sensei sighed, and like he knows what Hiro thought, he spoke. “That’s right, there’s something wrong with Matsuzawa-san’s brain.” He said.
Hiro felt like there’s a big stone in his heart, there must be something really bad with it.
“This called a Spinocelebellar Degeneration Disease.” Sensei said, and that makes Hiro shocked.
“That… is…”
“I’m so sorry, I really didn’t expect I have to tell you this. But, you know… this disease—“ Sensei tried to explain,
“Incurable…” Hiro cut his line.
Sensei looked to Hiro, and so with Hiro. “That’s right.” Sensei said.
Hiro remained silent for a long time as he looked down to the floor. He wanted to cry, but he can’t. “What… should I say to her?” He asked.
“I can’t get into that too much, but I recommend that you… still have to tell her what just happened.” Sensei answered.
“Should I… really break all her dreams?” Hiro asked, his voice started to shake.
Sensei didn’t answer, and Hiro decided to leave.

A few days have passed since the last time I came to the hospital, and these days… it seems like Hiro is hiding something from me.
“Hey, Hiro?” I asked.
“Um?” Hiro replied.
“Is there… something that you didn’t tell me about?” I asked again.
Hiro seems a bit shocked as he empty-glanced his book. I looked to him seriously.
“Why did you think about that?” Hiro replied.
“Because… Hiro is acting weird these days, seems like you’re hiding something just from me.” I said truthfully.
“Really?” Hiro replied, smiling to me. But I saw that as an excuse to hide that thing again.
I nodded, still looking at him.
Hiro looked to me too, and his face became so sad. “I don’t know neither I should tell you or not.” He whispered.
“Sorry?” I asked
“Ah, no… I mean… can we… talk for a moment?” Hiro finally said.
“Of course.” I replied.
“Let’s go to the school roof then.” He said as he smiled and closed his book.
“Why should we go there?” I asked as I followed him upstairs.
“Because we need privacy.” Hiro replied.
I confused, but decided to deny it. We arrived at the school roof, and Hiro turned his body to see me.
“You were right, there’s something I didn’t tell you about.” Hiro said, smiling.
“What is it?” I asked.
Hiro walked closer to me and hugged me suddenly.
“Hiro?” I confused.
He let go his hug and looked deeply into my eyes.
“When you came to the hospital, I asked the doctor about you.” Hiro started to explain, as his hand still on my shoulder.
“About… me? Is there… something wrong with me?” I asked, starting to feel worry, even though I didn’t know why.
“I can say yes… And when he checked your brain, he told me that… you have a disease…” Hiro said. I could hear his voice is shaking.
“Disease?” I asked.
“It called…”
I felt like I will start to cry soon.
“The Spinocelebellar Degeneration Disease…”

The First Paper

“Good morning!” Someone greeted me from my room’s window.

I turned my head and smiled, but then hurry stopped the dude when he tried to get in to my room. “Wait, wait, wait!! Who told you that you can come in??” I scolded him.

He just showed me that big grin and kept standing outside. “Let’s go to school together!” He said.

“Of course.” I replied and grabbed my school bag, and ready to closed the curtain.

“Wait, wait, wait! Why do you close the curtain??” He asked me again.

“I want to close the windows too, and I’ll come out from my house normally, okay?” I replied.

“Okay then, I’ll wait for you!” He said as he walked to the front door.

A moment later, I’m on his bike, closing my eyes and wrap my hands around his waist tightly as he accelerates his bike very fast.

“Hey, slow down!!” I protested.

But as usually, he just laughed. “It’s been almost a month we do this everyday, you still can’t get used to it??” He asked, half yelling between the sounds of the bike. Even though this is not a motor bike, but still, if it’s accelerated this fast, no one could hear your voice!

“How could I get used to something like this?? Slow down! Kyaa!” I replied, also yelling, even cried when we turn left.

“Come on, Tenshi! We can’t get the fun if we slow down!” He said.

“Fun your head, Hiro! Slow down!!!” I shouted for the third time when he finally reduces the speed. But when I realize, we’re already in front of our school.

I looked to my watch and saw the time. Usually, from my house to school takes around fifteen minutes. But this?? He reduced the time for ten minutes!! In other words, it only takes five minutes to be here by that speed of his incredible bike.

“See? We arrived here faster!” He said.

“Yeah, but you freak me out.” I replied.

He laughed, held my hand, and take me to our—empty—class. I let go my hand and walked to my seat.

“I want to go to the biology lab for a while.” Hiro said as he walked out from the class.

My seat is beside the windows, so it’s really fortunate to see the sky clearly from my seat. Whenever I’m bored, I’ll look out to the sky and that successfully wipe away my boredness. Then I remembered something when looking out at the sky. I grabbed my bag and got my sketch book out of it, and started to draw what’s written in my heart as usually.

Watashi wa, Matsuzawa Tenshi desu. I’m a second grader in high school, and my school name is Hasegawa International High School. This school is pretty great, and only a few students with talent will get into this school. And that’s including me.

I height 168 cm, and weight… should I mention it? I guess not. But I’m kinda skinny, well at least not as skinny as a corpse, it’s actually called slim. I have a wavy black hair, it reaches more than my shoulders. I have black eyes like my father and my mother, also like the two of my older brothers. And… I have a boyfriend named Okada Hiroki.

Hiro is a nice guy, when I arrived here for the first time, he helped me to stand up because I fell and my knee hit the ground hardly until it bleeds. Maybe… that time he felt pity for me and helped me out by carrying me on his back until we reached this school’s infirmary. And what did we get is punishment of coming late for the first day. I couldn’t stop apologizing to him that day, until he gave up and had me to return the favor—that’s what I want, I had to accompany him to some place.

That was pretty confusing, accompany him to some place to return a favor? But this is what happened…

“I’m so sorry, Okada-kun, it’s my fault to have you come late too!” I said.

“It’s okay, you know. The punishment is very easy, isn’t it? Standing outside of the class for the whole day only.” He replied. That was enough to make me feels he’s weird one more time.

“But—“

“Come on, there’s no need to apologize anymore, okay?” He asked.

“But I cannot feel not guilty if you don’t ask me to return the favor!” I protested.

“Eh? Some kind of… payment??” He unsure.

I nodded surely, and when I asked him for around the eleventh time, he gave up.

“Okay then… If you really want me to do that, then… The payment is… Would you like to accompany me to some place? Just for a while.” He said.

“…” I remained silent. “Seriously?” I asked.

“What do you mean by ‘seriously’?” He asked back.

“I mean, isn’t that too light for a payment?” I asked.

“No, I want you to do that, and if you don’t want to, well… I’ll just forget about anything.” He replied.

“Ah, don’t, don’t! Of course, I’ll happily accompany you!” I said.

“Well then, let’s go!”

Then what? He took me to a small hill where we could see the sky, small river, and an ocean at the same time.

Two months later, we officially a couple when Hiro said that he loves me from the first place. I was kinda shock that he has the same feeling as me, but anyway, I accepted him. And now he’s my boyfriend, already for one month long. Another info, we still have a private time to go to the hill together. And everyday he picked me up from my house to drive me to our school. Well yeah that’s it, with his incredibly speed bike.

“Matsuzawa-san!” Someone called me.

I lifted my head from my paper and saw my sensei is standing at the door. I quickly stood up and walked towards him.

“Minoru-sensei, doushita no?” I asked when I finally stood up in front of him. He’s holding some piece of paper.

“Could you please give this to the entire student in this class?” He said.

“Ah, of course.” I replied.

He gave the papers to me and smiled. “Thank you.” He said.

I nodded, also smiling as he left the class. I glanced at the papers and read some of it.

“Aah, so this is it? We have to write what we want to be in the future… I… kinda hate it…” I thought. I don’t know why, but I just don’t feel comfortable to tell everyone, even the teachers about my future. But it can’t be help, I have to give this to all of the students.

Back to Hiro… He has a black not-long-not-short-hair, he’s height 180 cm and weight… around 62 kg I guess, I haven’t asked him again. He’s smart, of course, have dark brown and bright eyes, and everyone says he’s handsome. Well that’s including me too, even though I haven’t said that clearly. He excels in some sports, like basketball or tennis. Ah, me? No, no, I’m bad at sports.

His personality, if we look for the overall, it’s great. He likes to smiles—and let me make you know, his smile is deadly for girls, he’s kind, a gentleman, always makes everyone laugh, likes to help people, plus romantic.

“Tenshi-chan..!” Hiro called me when the school bell rang.

I smiled as he walked to his seat, diagonally right from my seat. I looked to his back with smile, and our teacher started the class.

Oh, and he’s my classmate.

“Tenshi-chan, have you decided your future yet??” My friend, Ayane, asked me when we’re outside of the school. I’ve to wait for Hiro again, because he has his club activities while mine is in another day. Or else, I’ll try to return home safely walking by my own, but Hiro never let me to.

I sighed and glance at my paper. “I don’t know.” I replied as I laid my back on the wall beside the bike park.

“You don’t know? You’re a great painter, why don’t you go to an art college?” Ayane asked again.

I licked my eyebrows. “I’m… not interest…” I said.

“Really? That’s too bad…” Ayane replied. “Well then, I have to go now before my parents get mad! See ya later!” She said as she ran and wave her hands. I replied and glance to the paper again.

“Future?” I thought.

How much pain should I feel, to meet you one more time?
One more time, please don’t change the season
One more time, to the time when we fool around

When our path cross each other, I’m always the first to turn
Making me indulge more in my selfish way
One more chance, tripped by memories
One more chance, we cannot choose our next place

I’m always searching
For your figure to appear somewhere
Opposite of the house, at the other side of the alley’s windows
Even though I know you won’t be in such a place
If my wish were to come true, I want to go to your side right now
There’s nothing I could do
I would put everything in the line to hold you tight

Anybody should be fine if it was just to ease loneliness
Because the stars in the night sky seems like falling, I can’t lie to myself

Chapter 13

One day without Kengo…

Kumiko was walking around on the same line in her bedroom and thinking about nothing. She walked slowly here and there with sad face, and when she recognized what she just did, she sighed then stopped a while. But then started it again, and so it goes on and on. Finally she’s conscious enough to really stop what she was doing and sat on her bed.

What should I do?” she thought as she laid her body on the bed and closed her eyes.

I miss him so much… How can I live without him if even just one day without him I couldn’t concentrate of what I’m doing?”

One day without Kumiko…

Kengo sat on his room’s sofa and laid his back as he sighed. He turned on the TV but didn’t pay attention at all. He felt something is missing, and he really know what is that; Kumiko. A while later, he frustrated.

“Argh!!” He screwed his hair and turned off the TV then went outside to the balcony.

What can I do without you?” He thought.

I really lost my life without you by my side.”

Two days without Kengo…

“Hello?” Kumiko answered on the phone.

“Hey, how are ya doing?” Miki’s voice could be heard from the phone.

“Well… seriously, I couldn’t sleep last night.” She said, then she realized Miki was wanting more information. “I just slept about two hours I guess… and that was hardly.” She continued.

Miki sighed slowly so Kumiko couldn’t hear it. “If there’s something I can do for you, just tell me, okay?” She replied. “And if you miss him, just call him.” She added.

Kumiko remained silent for a while. “Yeah. Thanks, Miki-san. And… I guess I’ll call him later.” She said.

Miki smiled although she knew Kumiko couldn’t see it. “But I’m bored right now, can we chat?” She asked.

“Of course, I’d like to!” Kumiko replied.

And they chat on the phone for a long time. They talked about their activities recently. Kumiko asked Miki about Tatsuya, and the answer was; they fought.

“What happened, Miki-san??” Kumiko asked confusedly.

“Ah, that’s Tatsuya! He’s so stubborn, and… well I just got my emotion up!” Miki replied, trying to hide her emotion but of course she failed—like always.

“What just he did to you? And you know… you always got your emotion up so fast.” Kumiko said, laughing a little.

“I know, this is me. But come on, what he did really make me angry!!” Miki replied. A second later, Kumiko could hear someone was knocking Miki’s room’s door hardly.

“Is that him?” She asked.

“I guess yeah.” Miki replied carelessly.

“Would you like to open the door??” Kumiko asked again.

“No, never.” Miki replied shortly.

“Why? He’s waiting for you!” Kumiko said.

“Whatever, I’m in hate with him right now.” Miki replied, making Kumiko got more confuse.

“Okay, I’m confused if you don’t tell me what’s the problem here.” Kumiko protested.

“I guess I don’t want to talk about it…” Miki replied.

“Doushite?”

“I just… that was all his fault!”

“Maybe you should try to talk to him calmly, and I know he knows what’s his fault.” Kumiko suggested.

“Well—“

“Ah, shimatta! The battery’s low! I guess I can’t talk to you anymore. But just remember something; if you love him then you should I know who is he! Ja, Miki-san! See you later!” Kumiko flashed and close the conversation without giving any opportunity for Miki to speak.

“Thanks a lot, Kumiko!” Miki said angrily as she looked to her phone then sighed. “But I really don’t know…” She added.

Two days without Kumiko…

“Come on… who are you talking to right now, Kumi-chan??” Kengo said angrily while trying to call Kumiko. But her phone always busy, and even now her phone is turned off.

Kengo sighed hardly and gave up trying to call her. Then he received a call; from Tatsuya.

“Hello.” Kengo answered the call.

“Hey, Kengo-san.” Tatsuya replied.

“Hi. Uhm… you need something?” Kengo asked.

“Well…” Tatsuya paused. “I need you to give me some advice.” He continued.

“Advice? What kind of advice? And for what?” Kengo asked randomly.

“Actually…” He felt a bit hesitate to tell him. “I am fighting with Miki right now…” He finally decided to tell him.

“Fighting? With what? Knife? Katana? Or else?” Kengo tried to joke, but he laughed his self while Tatsuya sighed angrily.

“Come on, it’s not the time to joke! I’m serious, I’m fighting with her. So now, can you give me some advice of what should I do?? Please!” Tatsuya begged.

“How would I give you an advice if you don’t tell what kind of problem is this?” Kengo replied.

“Uhm… Okay, so…” He paused for a while. “Actually, this is because I’m so stubborn…” He finally said.

“Stubborn like?” Kengo asked.

The chatted, for a very long time, and finally Kengo frustrated himself.

“You’re twenty years old. Tatsuya! How could you can’t solve this problem by yourself??” Kengo asked angrily.

“Please~ I need your help just for now!” Tatsuya begged again.

Kengo sighed. “Look and listen carefully.” He said sharply. “If you really love her, you should understand how she feels, and don’t be stubborn by yourself. So! Ask for forgiveness and talk about it with her surely!” He continued.

Tatsuya remained silent for a while. “I think…”

“What, you don’t understand? Let me hit your head first so you’ll understand.” Kengo cut Tatsuya’s line.

“No, no! I completely understand! But the problem now is…” He replied. “I know Miki too much, she wouldn’t let me ask for forgiveness!” He continued.

They fought –again-, until finally Tatsuya gave up.

“Okay, I’ll try.” He said finally.

“God, why don’t you say that at the first place??” Kengo  protested.

Tatsuya just laughed. “Well then, thank  you so much for all of your advice, Kengo-san!” He said.

“Yeah, you’re welcome.” Kengo replied. “By the  way can I ask you something?” He asked.

“Of course, what is it?” Tatsuya replied.

“Uhm…” He started. “How… is… Kumiko?” He asked.

Kengo could feel Tatsuya is smiling there. “You miss her, huh?” Tatsuya said.

“Well, you could say…” He replied.

“I think she’s fine, but I haven’t seen her lately.” Tatsuya said.

“Sou ka…” Kengo replied.

“Why don’t you call her?” Tatsuya asked.

“I want to, but her phone is turned off.” Kengo answered.

“Really? Well I don’t know about it.”

“Thanks anyway.”

“You’re welcome.”

Then both of them closed the –long- conversation.

Where are you?” Kengo thought.

“My phone is broken! Hell no!!” Kumiko shouted angrily to her phone.

“What should I do?? I can’t contact Kengo if my phone isn’t here…!” She said desperately. “I have to go to the service center now…” She continued.

Then she grabbed her bag and her phone, and quickly head to the phone service center.

While Kengo is still trying to call her.

“What happen with your phone, Kumiko??” Kengo asked angrily.

“I haven’t hear your voice for more than one week!” He continued as he tried to redial her. But still, there’s no connection between their phones.

Kengo sighed hardly and threw away his phone to his bed.

“Don’t you miss me?” He asked.

It’s been a long time since Kengo went away, and guess what, they haven’t got into a contact until now, for about a month, or more…

“Seriously! Where is she? I can’t contact her, I can’t found her anywhere, I just…” Kengo shouted to himself in his room. He sighed hardly and laid his body on the bed.

“I just miss you…” He whispered.

Since then, whenever Kengo’s outside of the house, he always searches for Kumiko. He tried to call her, even though she won’t answer. That keeps worrying Kengo, what if something happen to her? So everytime he calls Miki and asks about her condition, even though Miki sometimes said she doesn’t know about it.

He really keeps searching for her.

I cry a lot this morning, until I got so sleepy in the afternoon.

So I took a short afternoon nap time around twenty minutes I guest. ^^
And while sleeping, I’m listening to Nagayama Takashi’s song : Slow Jam.

Too bad, I woke up because someone turned on the fan and closed the balcony door. -_-”

Padahal sy sengaja buka pintunya, biar lebih kerasa kayak “di rumah Kengo”. =))
Sy bayanginnya rumahnya cukup enak sih :

  • Sofa putih
  • Tatami
  • TV
  • Taman di deket sofa
  • Meja makan di belakang sofa
  • Piano di deket meja makan
  • Dapur di samping meja makan
  • Ruang tamu
  • Lantai dua
  • Ada dua kamar plus satu kamar mandi

Yihaa~ XDDD

Sudah! Beralih ke topik semula : Koizora.

Hikkksss…! So sad….

I was so crying when I watched the last episode…

“Mi…. ka… Wara… tte?”

=((

Hiro! Don’t die! :( That’s really too bad… Hiro has to die anyway… Because on the first episode. Mika said that the Hiro that taught her that… is… no longer here anymore….

This is the best sad drama ever! *Give five stars*
